22. Inital Ideas

I helped contribute to getting ideas for our teen movie, I came up with ideas for both High school drama and youth Drama.

High School Drama

I came up with the idea of showing two teens (girls) that live two completely different lifestyles and somehow end up talking. The movie would show the contrasts between their lives. A life of a typical teen and the life of a 'nerd' teen. On top of that the audience would've found out secrets/personal things that both teens are hiding especially the typical 'cool teen', Is her lifestyle really as it seems?

Youth Drama

For this idea It was going to be based on a girls life, which is different because most youth drama especially english ones are usually based on boys. This idea was going to show what a girls life is like in the 'ghetto'. Showing the struggles and issues that arise due to the area she lives in and her families social class. 
It was going to include quite a few sterotypes to really exaggerate and illustrate her 'ghetto' lifestyle.

As a group  we decided on the High school drama idea with a few adaptations. We are going to contrast the lives of two teens. The typical teen which is the 'cool' girl and the ringleader of her 'cool' group and then the 'geeky' teen who doesn't really behave the way  a typical teen would behave. Such as not wearing make up, not listening to mainstream  music or even going out on the weekends. We want to portray her as a 'plain Jane' and really exaggerate on that typical 'nerd' that always studies. We also want to make it fun and not too serious. We also decided to add a bit more to the plot to switch things up a bit. The  two teens end up talking and you soon find out personally things about them. Is the 'cool' girl really as wealthy and cool and she says she is. Is the nerd really as unfortunate as others tease her to be?
