17. Practical remake Activity Evaluation

A Room For Romeo Brass Evaluation

We chose to remake 'A room for Romeo Brass'. We did this by basically re filming the title sequence to the best of our ability of replicating the original one but instead of having the credits on a blank screen , we put credits over our shots so the credits appeared as you're watching the sequence itself.

We were very successful in making the credit text look very similar to the one used in the sequence. It was quite a simple text font so finding it was not so hard, we found it in Final Cut pro where we added our credits to our clips. We also made the text bold so that it was visible whilst watching the sequence. Overall I am quite happy with how successful the credits were. This is because they're quite clear to read, the font is very similar to the original sequence and also the credits don't pass too quickly, we edited it to make sure the viewers have time to read the text and it doesn't pass by too quickly.

If we had the opportunity to do this again there's a lot that would be done differently to help improve the overall outcome, especially in terms of the practical approach, filming it. I think it would help to do a clear story board of the shots we plan on using as well as the script we used so that we would have more of an idea of how to set up our camera when filming and getting a more variety of shot types in the sequence. Also in terms of editing and getting the soundtrack over the sequence it would've been better to plan ahead so that it would've of been left last minute and completing it would've been done a lot faster. We could have done this by assigning roles to each group member to when they would help edit so not only would it have been completed more faster and effectively but everyone would've had a more equal chance in taking part in editing. One last thing we would improve is making our sequence appear more seamless. A lot of our shots were 'jumpy' so to prevent this in future productions  we should be more weary when re filming shots and filming them for longer so that when we do edit it it would be easier to make it flow nicely.
