Both mainstream and independent companies create teen movies.The more successful teen moves are always done by mainstream institutions such as paramount pictures, columbia pictures and lionsgate. From research I've found out that my favourite and popular are produced and distributed by mainstream companies.

From these I've noticed that popular teen movies are created by mainstream production and distribution companies. Linking to this I noticed that they're successful due to the fact that the companies that are involved in the making of them are able to give them high budgets and so there chances of being successful are really high. One last thing I noticed is that most mainstream teen movies are American.

On the other hand a lot of teen movies that are British are created by more independent companies or created by independent companies but distributed to a more national audience such as BBC but not internationally. Here are a few of my favourite British teen movies and institutions that were involved in the making.
