Reflection on First Filming Session

Today we had our first filming session, however, we only had one and a half hours of filming time rather than three hours filming due to the excessive raining and bad weather.

What went well:
We managed to use our time effectively, so that even though the rain caused setbacks we still had time to film.
Used a range of different shot types.

The first scene we filmed was in Angel outside and at the gates of 'City and Islington College', as well on a bus. We only managed to film the scenes that features Zoe only, as our other characters was unable to film that day, causing minor setbacks, but the shots we managed to film went well. The location we chose was a success, when filming the bus scene, the bus driver gave us permission to take our shots, which could of been a problem.

Besides the bad weather setting us back on filming, there are also a few errors made when filming that will have to re-shot. We also need to film more shot types of each scene, so there will be more variety when we start our editing.

What needs to be re-shot:
This shot was one of our well take shots, but unfortunately there is too much head space, so when we retake, the shot has to be tighter.

When I filmed this scene, my reflection was caught in the sliding doors, so when we retake this shot I will stand at an angle so, my reflection isn't scene.

This one of several shots that we took that came out blurry, as when filming my hand wasn't steady, so next time when retaking this shot, I will use a tripod. This will make it look more professional.

The clothing and props we used for our character Zoe was a successful representation.

What changes we need to make:
  • We need to make sure we have a backup plan, in case weather is bad next filming session.
  • Before filming the scene we need to have all the characters needed to play Jessica's scene.
