Target Audience Video Survey

I tried uploading the videos, of a few people I interviewed regarding target audience research. The questions asked where;

  • What is your name and age?
  • What are you favourite high school drama and/or youth drama?
  • What codes and conventions of the teen film do you like?
  • Why do you like the films you have selected?
E.g 1.
Lady Pearl, 16
Favourite films are, Anuvahood because she likes the comedy aspect of the film, and the way they present the stereotypes comically in the film and show different youth groups. She also really liked mean girls because she found it interesting, and liked the way they contrasted the social groups.

E.g 2.
Imaani, 16
Favourite Films are Cinderella Story and Confessions of a teenage drama queen. She liked the way they were realistic and modernised, she felt they were realistic and could identify  lot with them.

37-blog brand

We decided to change our display page of blogs to suit the

production of our movie more. It's a high school drama, based on two female teenage characters
hence why we decided to make the main colour pink. Linking to the use of the colour pink, for our title sequence we intend
on using pink for the colour of our Title texts to establish that it's a female
based high school drama and not a youth drama. One other reason why we used pink is because of
one of our main characters (Jessica). She pretends to be that lead  popular girl in her clique that
always seems to love the colour pink, this was inspired by mean girls. Overall the colour pink reflects the story line of our
movie and that is mainly why we chose it.
Adding blue to the text colour was a 'lighter' also can be seen as another 'girly' colour to add in.
Another  reason for the use of blue is our
'geeky'  characer is seen as different from the average teen or popular girl and so the choice of blue relates to the
story line of both our main characters showing major differences but in some way
end up forming a friendship.

Mise en Scene- Location

Here are the final locations we used, in our opening sequence. Originally we were going to use two bedroom scenes, in which we were going to film in two different bedrooms to show the contrast between the characters lives. Instead we decided to add a few different scenes, so our location Mise en Scene changed. All our locations were around Angel, because we were quite far behind in filming and editing, as we had to re film loads of scenes, we decided to use somewhere local and that we could shoot everything, to save time.

Around Angel, Islington

Around Angel, Islington.

We have several scenes surrounding a bus stop, because we tried to show contrast between all scenes with both character .E.g we would show a scene with one character getting the bus and why, and reflect their social economic background through this mise en scene, the do the same for the other character.

This is outside, City and Islington College, we ended filming outside rather that inside for our final idea because, when we had to re film those scenes that had bad framing, we had to do it during the holidays and weekend and the school gates were closed, so we had to use dialogue to show that their going to college.

We had to ask permission, but we filmed getting on and off a bus to make it seem more realistic.
we were going to shoot in Oxfam at first, but they wouldn't allow us, so we ended up using cancer research for one of our main locations, which we used to establish the social and economic background of one of the characters.

Alliance Atlantis
All of the former Alliance Atlantis specialty networks are now owned by Shaw Communications through its Shaw Media Division (formerly CW Media) as of October 27, 2010.[ The films division was later acquired by Entertainment One group and folded into eOne on January 9, 2013.
They have partnered with Lionsgate, Summit Entertainment, Focus Features and Lakeshore Entertainment, who all have produced a number of teen films.

Teen films that have been produced by Alliance Atlantis:
This is a film based primarily on social groups. The main character has fallen into a social group called 'The Duff' and doesn't want to be restricted or labelled in a social group.

Second filming session

After the second filming session we has filmed Zoes films. However we had to overcome the difficulty of holding the stig rig which we then realised made shots jerky or jumpy and were not able to use for editing.

First filming session

After the first filming session we felt happy with the results as we had completed two whole scenes but believed the framing of the shots could have been improved..

We initially chose this outfit to portray Jessica as a typical popular girl.
